have yourself a merry little christmas

60 plus cards and several gifts later, i am finally ready for christmas. i do hope that all those cards in the snail mail make it all in time. you are all in my thoughts when i wrote them.

when i first started working there was a yearly tradition of doing christmas gift exchange. each one was to buy a gift of a certain value and then they will exchange it with someone. the problem was that who you were exchanging the gift with, you did not know. very often, we ended up with either boxes of chocolates or photo frame.

that tradition was broken a couple fo years back. they decided, correctly i might add, to get rid of this. so here we are, buying gifts for people whom you want to buy for. no more photo frames or boxes of chocolates. just gifts with the people they were meant for, in mind. now that is what christmas is all about, ain't it?

my division is having our annual dinner and dance tonight. i guess it promises to be a fun filled night, topped off with nice food and lots of drinks. looks like there is going to be lots of partying going on tonight. it is a nice way to signal the coming to an end of another year. i can't wait.

i'm late i'm late

do forgive me if some of you folks out there receive your christmas cards late. i'm pretty late this year and i think i can only send out my batch of cards this weekend. i hope that the annual pile up of mails at the post office do not slow down the delivery. but then again, maybe many more will send e-cards rather than proper cards. you think?

work has really slow down quite a bit. its the year end and everyone is wounding down, clearing some leave and spending some time with their family. i'm just glad that i now have some relaxing time here at work. there is, of course, still work to be done by things are being done at half speed now. not much major happenings until next year.

that reminds me. i have not gone for christmas shopping yet. i'm late i'm late i'm late. how late? very late. the thing is, i cannot stand going down to town at this time of the year due to the huge crowd. jam on the roads, jam on the pavements, jam in the buildings. 1 big jam... i love jam, provided it is blueberry jam and it comes in between 2 slices of bread. if not, leave me out of it.

yawn... this is what i am really feeling now. sleepy. i think i'll go for my coffee break now. if not, i'm going to fall asleep at my desk.
