clouds

have you looked at the clouds today?
the clouds formation this morning were absolutely fabulous. they looked so very white and the sky in the background, we as blue as a blue sky can get. it was one of those mornings when i just felt like bringing out a deckchair, sit in it and just gazed at the skies.

sometimes, we get beautiful white clouds, sometimes we get dull-looking grey clouds. sometimes, we get clear blue skies, sometimes we get dark rainy weather. in little old singapore, you never know when it will suddenly rain. its a lot like life. you never know when sometime dark is going to happen and rain on your parade. so either we can an umbrella on standby, or we can just endure through the wet weather. maybe, go find a nice little shelter for a bit to wait out the storm. when that is over, we can still come out into the sun and dry ourselves out. maybe we become that little bit wiser, and we will learn to run for shelter whenever we see that dark clouds in the horizon.

if not, just be a bit more adventurous. just go out there and get wet. you will agree with me that even though it gets you wet and you will probably catch a chill later, but in that moment, you are totally refreshed and feeling nice. what say you?

has it been that long?

late last night, i went over to meet a couple of old friends. one of them, i known for 7 years, the other a whooping 15 years. they knew each other when i brought them down for a soccer match years before.
now they are considering setting up a small company together.

over the weekend, i helped to coordinate another wedding for another close friend. he was my soccer kaki and she was my colleague at work. i introduced them to each other one fine night when we went pubbing together. they never looked back since then.

my friend was looking at some of the photos i took at the wedding and comparing them with some photos of me from 4 years ago. she said that i have really matured a lot. hmmm...
yes, i do feel that i have aged quite a bit. maybe my peter pan days were behind me and i have grown up. well, i want to believe that i have grown up, but just that little bit.

there have been more and more reminders recently that i will be hitting the big 30 in less than a month's time.
age has always been a number to me and it is how i live my life that matters to me most. sometimes, i do hope that i can act my age. that does not say much about me, now does it? i wonder what made my friend say that i am more matured now. ohhhh.... must be just the looks and not the way i behave. hmmmm... i wonder if that is a good thing or not?

there is only 1 thing that i want to correspond to my age of 30. and that is my waistline....
'nuff said...

you'll never walk alone

When you walk through a storm
Keep your chin up high
And don't be afraid of the dark.
At he end of the storm
Is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark.

Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
Tho' your dreams be tossed and blown.
Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never walk alone.

for soccer fans, you will know what the above lyrics means to a particular football club in england. when you hear it, sang by the fans, it would make a grown man cry, as many would have seen on a fine thursday morning. but i am not talking about football today.

the lyrics basically tells you not be afraid and not be dismay because you will never walk alone. through the wind and throught the rain, through the storm...
i guess it is pretty much true. you'll never walk alone, when you have good and true friends. the only problem is that we tend to keep things to ourselves too much, even from our close friends. but no worries, true friends, being true, will be there for us all, such that we will never have to walk alone.

i doubt if i had won any new fans from my last 2 blogs, but still, you know that i have seen better days. sometimes, we just take things in life too seriously and we should really take some time off to laugh, be it at others or at ourselves. i just hoped that i had provided enough entertainment for you to laugh along with me.

we still have many more years to go. its not surprising if we grow bored with life. its not surprising if we feel that everything is routine or that we are just not living to our full potiential. then again, if we are all so busy doing our own things, be it work etc, then we will probably not be living life to the fullest now are we? then again, we do have a choice of doing what we want, don't we? many a times, we just don't want to choose to do them, for whatever reasons.

i realised after many hard lessons, that i can never make others do what i feel is good for them. i mean, what i feel is good for them, they may not feel the same. so all i can do is to tell them what i think.

good comments

looks like i am well-loved by audience, judging from all the good and nice comments i have received.
The comments ranged from,
"lunatic" , "too much free time", to the more endearing "read already vomit blood".

what can i say, they love me to bits (because that's how they will like me, in bits) . i'll bet they can't wait to get their hands on me (not to mention their legs, knives, sticks and whatever that is handy as a weapon)...

well, since you boys and girls like the last blog so much, here is another one, all about our good friends, jack, jim, john and jenni.

*****

jim: please don't order too much food. i'm trying to cut down and i am quite full. i had a pretty heavy lunch.

john: are you sure?

jim: yes yes. just get me 1 egg prata thats all.

jack: well, i am quite hungry, so get me 2 kosong and 1 egg for now.

jenni: wah! everything looks very good here. i feel like eating the murtabak and also want to try the chocolate and the cheese prata.

john: well, i am going for the mee goreng with 1 bullseye.

jenni: hey, i want that too!

jim: woman, how much are you going to eat? you are that hungry?

john: she just needs lots of food in front of her.

jack: yeah. and after that, she will nibble bits here and there and leave the rest to us.

jim: i already said that i am quite full, so please don't give me any food.

john: ok ok. lets order. can we have a total of 2 egg, 2 kosong and 1 mee goreng with bullseye. woman, what you want?

jenni: can we make that a big mee goreng. then i'll have a chocolate prata, 1 cheese prata and also 1 banana prata.

jim: woah. thats a lot. you sure you can finish?

jenni: can lah. anyway, you guys can help to eat a little right? i'll take most of it.

jack: yep. sure you will...

jenni: can we have mutton and chicken curry also? yes yes, 2 seperate type of curries with the meat. thank you.

john: you make sure you eat them all.

jack: drinks? make mine a teh halia

john: make that 2.

jenni: milo peng.

jim: total 3 teh halia and 1 milo peng please. thank you.

john: i have a feeling we are going to overeat again. *sigh*

jim: no. let the person who ordered the food, eat the food. i'm just going to stick to my egg prata and thats it. this woman will just have to finish all that she ordered.

jenni: i'll finish. you'll see.

(the food arrived after 10 mins)

jack: oh shit. looks like a lot.

john: you don't say. look at my mee goreng. i'm sure i heard you asked for a big mee goreng and not a monster sized one! this plate looks like it can feed 3 with some leftover.

jenni: its not that bad lah. i'll help you eat.

jack: how you going to do that, when you still have your chocolate, cheese and banana prata?

jim: let her settle herself. i'm sticking to my egg.

(5 mins later)

jim: the egg is quite good.

jack: yeah. wah... you so fast finish yours already? i'm not even done with 1 of mine.

jim: yeah. but thats all. no more. i'm full.

jenni: the mutton curry is very good, but the chicken is normal only. the cheese is also quite good.

john: is it? well, i'm struggling with the mee goreng. woman, you better eat.

jenni: yes yes, i will. hey you guys, try this cheese prata. the chocolate also quite good.

jim: good meh? i'll try the chocolate one.

jenni: here here, take a big piece.

(anther 5 mins later)

jack: man, i'm quite full already, after the egg and kosong.

john: help me with my mee goreng leh. the woman is not eating much.

jenni: what do you mean not eating? i'm eating and i'm also trying to finish my banana prata. its quite good also.

john: jim, help me leh.

jim: no lah. i'm very full already.

jack: don't look at me. i'm done.

jenni: come, try the banana. its really good.

jenni: what do you mean only one. i helped also and on top of that, i even finished my banana and chocolate prata.

john: yeah, sure you helped.

jenni: i'm very full and i can't take any more.

jim: you still have half of the cheese left. just finished that lah.

jenni: i can't. too full.

jim: hey, if you don't want the cheese than i'll take it.

jenni: yes, take it. i'm done. here, take the rest of the mutton curry too.

(even further 10 mins later)

john: i surrender. it is not possible to finish this plate of mee goreng. anyone wants the rest?

jim: not me. too full already. had a heavy lunch.

jenni: i finished 1 chocolate, 1 cheese, 1 banana and 2 curries already. how come you cannot even finished your plate of mee goreng? i even helped you to eat some.

john: you had 2 mouthfuls and you said you helped? in fact, you were the one who ordered this huge plate, so you should eat more.

jack: don't look at me. i'm just happy with my teh halia.

jenni: me cannot.

john: then i think i'll just leave it then. cannot finish.

jim: ah? you sure you don't want to eat? just a bit more.

john: no lah. there is still a third left. i'm filled. you can have it if you want.

jim: don't waste. i'll eat it then.

(2 eggs, 2 kosong, 1 mee goreng, 1 banana, 1 cheese and 1 chocolate later)

john: now thats a full dinner

jack: yeah. i'm too full to move.

jenni: you did not even eat a lot. so weak.

john: another drink for you?

jenni: nope, enough. too full.

jack: had 2 teh halia already. no thanks.

jim: nope. enough. heavy lunch.

john: ok. then i'll get the bill.

jenni: so what are we going to do after this?
